Each Month, starting May 2014, O2EA (Overweight to Endurance Athlete) is challenging us to rack up the miles. We pick an exercise, estimate how many miles we do and log our miles. We also earn miles for Yoga classes, Fitness classes,Personal training, and logging our food. At the end of the month we get a little prize if we meet or exceed our estimated mileage. The coaches are challenging us this way to help hold us accountable. Just what I need. Because I am out of state I created this blog to keep track of all my miles. If you want more info on what O2EA is about check out their webpage at www.o2ea.com

Been a crazy couple of weeks

Parker was a lead in the musical, Bye Bye Birdie, May 16-18th.   This was his first lead!!  He did amazing!!!  Trish worked backstage when she could and helped paint the sets ahead of time.
Trish had prom on the same night that Parker had his show!!!

The weekend before Parker's show Parker took a friend to prom and on the same night of his prom, Trish had her 16th birthday party.

Also, the week leading up to Parker's show I went back to work as a nanny.  I work afternoon hours and my kids had to be at the theater every evening.  It was crazy.

This was probably the craziest two weeks I have had in a long time.  I am really proud of myself because despite all of this insanity  I made it a point to keep taking care of myself.  I made it to the gym and for the most part ate rather well.  I did have some gains, but overall when everything is said and done I am down about 5 pounds during these two weeks.  In the past I would have definitely let my busy schedule be my excuse for not taking care of myself.  Wahoooo!!!  I've come a long way.

May 2nd Mileage

I work out a a Fitness Studio, called ENERGIA FITNESS here in Hadley, Ma. (www.energiastudios.com)   It is a small gym that offers personal training,  spinning, TRX classes, boot camp, Pilates, Obstacle Course,  and Spin and Strength classes just to name a few.  I love working out here.  We are a tight knit community and even consider ourselves to be family.  This is where I will be logging most of my miles for the O2EA challenge.  The O2EA Gym(www.o2ea.com)  and community is a very close knit community and offers great support as well.  If I lived in Denver this would be my gym of choice.  Love you guys.

On May 2nd, I had a personal training session in the morning with Justin Killeen.  I have been working with him over a year now.  He has challenged me mentally and physically.  I am the strongest I have ever been and can't wait to get even stronger.

After Personal training I went to YOGA at the YMCA.

Later that evening I came back to ENERGIA and took a spin and strength class followed by a foam rolling and stretching class.

TOTAL MILEAGE FOR TODAY:  25 Miles. TOTAL MILEAGE FOR THE MONTH:  33.14 Miles.   ONLY 277.36 miles to go!!!

This was the first day of the challenge.  I worked out with a friend at the gym.  We worked out hard and I felt great afterwards, tired, but great.

After that I borrowed my friend's dog and we went for a 3.1 mile walk.  It was a beautiful day!!!

Here is a picture of one of my views on my walk tonight with my walking partner, Molly.

Here is a screen shot of the MY RUNKEEPER APP, showing my route and how far I walked. I picked up liter on my route home, so that explains the longer time.  It was a great workout though.

MILEAGE FOR MAY 1ST-  8.14 Miles.  Only 302.36 to go.    Wahooooo!!!  I'm off to a great start.

May 2014 Mileage Challenge Details!!!

Here are the details of what I am doing. O2EA (o2ea.com) is a Fitness Studio and community in Denver, Co.  The founder, Richard Kalasky has lost about 160 pounds and now races endurance sports including IRONMAN triathlons.  He has put together a great team to help people reach success. This is a challenge that the coaches have put together to help hold us accountable each month with our eating and our activity.  Their studio is in Denver, Co., but they are committed to helping people nationwide.  So glad that I have met these amazing people.

O2EA monthly mileage challenge

Starts May 1st

We want to give you all the opportunity to challenge yourself – more. So starting May 1st 2014 we are opening up an individual mileage challenge to all O2EA'ers.

Details:

Before the beginning of the monthly challenge pick one activity from which you will build your monthly mileage. Any non motorized activity – biking, running, swimming, hiking/walking, etc..- counts. Then challenge yourself by setting a month mileage goal to reach for that activity. Document all your miles using any app or website during the month. Meet or exceed your stated mileage and receive a gift from O2EA for your hard work.

To keep you going - O2EA will help you accumulate those miles
  • Each fitness and Yoga class taken in that month add 5 miles to your activity
  • Each 1 hr. personal training session with Rich, Geof or Lindsey add 10 miles to your activity
  • Submit a monthly food log and receive ½ mile for each day documented.

Small print stuff:
  • Only one activity / person / month to count towards your overall miles
  • You can only change activity and mileage at the start of a new month
  • This is self reported cheating just hurts you.
  • O2EA coaches have the right to correct miles if is determined that you are holding back for the prize
  • Estimated Activity Mileage goal number must be submitted before the 1st to count for that month's challenge
  • Final mileage must be submitted by the 5th of the month to be eligible for prizes
  • O2EA fitness camp, PT sessions mileage will be calculated from your sign in's on our scheduling webpage
  • There is no cost to join just a desire to challenge yourself.
